We are a charity providing peer to peer support for families and children with ADHD across Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff.

We share good practice and useful advice, as well as understanding the difficulties faced by families who are supporting children and young people with ADHD.
We provide support and activities for families and work alongside schools and local authorities to improve policies and support for children with ADHD.

We provide a range of community-based mental health treatments and therapies for people who need support for their mental health issues. We take referrals from consultant psychiatrists, acute inpatient mental health wards and our mental health assessment team. If you feel that you need support from any of our services, speak to your GP to request a referral. Your local Community Mental Health Teams team will then do a thorough assessment with you to make sure you’re signposted to the right services. Together with you, we will create a care plan to support you in the best way possible.


Adult Mental Health - Home Treatment Team

The Home Treatment Team has two main functions - to provide an alternative to hospital admission and to facilitate early discharge from the acute wards. After an initial assessment a plan of care is agreed with you and the relevant professional.

We support you with your progress. As you improve we will see you less often and discuss with you what follow up arrangements will be suitable in your case. A referral is required for the home treatment team from a mental health professional. The service is aimed at those adults between the age of 18 and 65.

The Referral Pathway Team provide a single point of access for GP,s, Social Workers, Other Professionals for people over 65 experiencing mental health problems or under 65 if they have memory issues. The service is aimed for those adults over 65 experiencing mental health issues or under 65 if they have memory issues. People who require this service can be referred by GPs, Social Workers, Other Professionals.


Adult Mental Health - Older Person's Primary Assessment Team

The Primary Assessment Team provide a comprehensive initial assessment to people with lived experience referred to our services. The initial assessment will be held at either our Hospital, Out Patients Department or at their home. People who require this service can be referred by GPs, Social Workers, Other Professionals. – People referred to our Assessment Team will have a mild/moderate mental health issues, either cognitive/functional in nature or severe.

Bridgend County Care & Repair provide a range of services to clients across Bridgend. 

We provide a 'holistic' service which means that we try to support clients not just in relation to specific works, but also in relation to any other work, assistance or intervention which the client would benefit from. This can include signposting to other organisations who can assist in areas that we are unable to.

Services include assisting you to improve, repair or adapt your home and are available to individuals aged 60 or over, or of any age with a disability. Some services may be chargeable dependant on eligibility.

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

CAMHS is a team of professionals with different backgrounds, skills and training relevant to the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people. They provide support to children and young people and their families in a number of ways including talking therapies like cognitive behavioural therapy, group therapies and family therapy. Referrals to CAMHS can come from a range of professionals including GPs, Children’s Services and Paediatrics.

The Contact Zone provides a safe, friendly & neutral environment where children of separated families can spend quality time with their non-resident parent. Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (Bridgend)

The Crisis Assessment component of the service is for adults (18 yrs and over) who are in need of an urgent Mental Health Assessment. Urgent is defined as the person presents a risk to themselves or others or their mental health is at risk of serious deterioration without timely intervention. Referrals are accepted from the following:

  • Primary Care
  • Police and Court Liaison Team
  • Non-Statutory Agencies
  • Self Referrals  / Family / Carers
  • A & E and other parts of the General Hospital (Outside of 9-5)
  • Service Users of Mental health Community teams (Outside usual working hours)

What to expect: Telephone screening of referrals to ensure the service is the most appropriate for the person referred.Advice and referral to other services if a Crisis Assessment is not appropriate. A 4 hour response to accepted referrals, or preferred appointment time as agreed with patient / carer.


Cwm Ogwr Mens Shed

Cwm Ogwr Men’s Shed is similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite.
