The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male.  Suicide is now the single biggest cause of death in men aged 20 – 49 in England and Wales.

 

Cwm Ogwr Mens Shed

Cwm Ogwr Men’s Shed is similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending. The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. Taking part in many different activates including drawing, painting, woodwork and model building.

Dads Matter UK
The aim of Dads Matter UK is to raise awareness amongst dads and to encourage open discussion and disclosure of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress during the 1001 Critical Days from Conception to Age 2. This is a crucial time when parental behaviours and attitudes (Mental Health) impact upon the development of the child. Chris and Mark are passionately committed to the same cause, but from different view-points and for different reasons, and they aim to challenge and change the stigma associated with mental health, specifically Postnatal Depression (PND) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Let’s Talk Men’s Mental Health was created in the South Wales valleys. With our direct but friendly approach we have built a strong community, that is growing with demand. We aim to break the stigma of men’s mental health and provide support for those who are suffering. We aren’t saying this will be the answer for everyone but we are asking you give it a try, there is ‘No Pressure, No Judgement, No Stigma’.


Men’s Sheds Cymru
A Men’s Shed is a safe and nurturing environment where Men, who have time on their hands for whichever reason, can go to work on projects and activities which interest them. Men’s Sheds welcome everyone who have time on their hands whether that’s due to unemployment, retirement, bereavement, disability or simply if someone’s new to an area and are looking for ways of finding out about what’s going on within a community. We’re here to help get sheds up and running in communities such as yours, all across Wales.

New Horizon's Men's Group

The Men’s Group is a safe space for men to talk freely and to offer support to one another. The hope is to develop a trusting environment where men can share their thoughts and feeling whilst building a network of support. The group meets on Wednesday evening at 6pm via zoom. To join click here
